Backup takes forever after theme switch

Hi!
I just switched my website to another theme, from Twenty Ten to Twenty Sixteen. Now, the backup took 258 seconds, giving me a warning. Before it was always around 50-60 seconds. What can I do to analyze the reasons and especially to improve this?
Thanks!
Best,
Hanna

I’ve been using BackWPup for years on loads of WP installation and hosts. IT works like a charm. Easy to configure and most importantly: it’s robust and reliable!

cURL error 28 on a single virtual host out of many ONLY

Hello, I cannot figure out what it is that particular virtual host has differently that I cannot use backwpup.

What I did:

* compared conf in sites-available with another virtual host on the same server where backwpup works – no diff
* compared /var/www/DIR permissions with another virtual host on the same server where backwpup works – no diff
* compared ownership and permissions of wp-content, uploads, backwpup folders in uploads with another virtual host on the same server where backwpup works – no diff
* changed ownership to $USER on /var/www/DIR, wp-content, uploads, backwpup folders in uploads – no joy
* changed permissions to 775 on /var/www/DIR, wp-content, uploads, backwpup folders in uploads – no joy
* changed permissions to 777 on /var/www/DIR, wp-content, uploads, backwpup folders in uploads – no joy

Please can someone seasoned tell me where is it that I didn’t look?

The problem –>

Server self connect WP Http Error: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds

On another virtual host on the same server where backwpup works it is obviously Server self connect Response Test O.K.

Other than that there is not a single character of difference in the backwpup > settings > information table.

backwpup doesn’t save new jobs

Hello,

I am trying to backup a staging website, however I’m having a problem. When I try to create a new job and save the settings backwpup resets and doesn’t allow me to save anything. When I attempt to run a job without changing the settings it tells me that The job “New Job” needs properly configured destinations to run!

I am pasting the debug log below. Just something to note: at first the server status was 401, but by following your suggestion in another topic I went to Settings -> Network and changed the Auth method to Basic. I then entered the username and password for the staging website which gave me the Response Test O.K. status below.

WordPress Multisite Backup takes to long (over 7 hours)

Hello,

the full Backup of my Multisite takes really long. If I only backup the database it takes about 20-30 seconds. The full backup takes about 7 hours (size of the backup file about 4,5 GB).

Is this normal or a bug?

WordPress and all Plugins are Up-to-date. PHP Version is 7.1.

Kind regards,
Waldemar

saving backup issues

I do like your product. The ease for use and the extensive documentation you have is awesome. The issue I’m having is this. I have the backups set up for full backup nightly (may be an overkill but that’s what required of me to do). We save 10 days of backup at a time. So every 10 days I dload the backups and then delete them from the site. Well here lately it’s not saving the nightly backups. For instance today I went to get the backups it only shows 3 i can dload. But the logs shows that it ran every night without error. This is happening on a number of sites. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Missing required client configuration options

Hi there,

I am getting the same problem as below…

https://wordpress.org/support/topic/missing-required-client-configuration-options/

I don’t think the fix that worked for @bethannon1 applies to my problem as I am not using S3 Media Maestro as far as I am aware.

I’ve tried reinstalling the latest version of BackWPup and also tried replacing all the core WordPress files but that didn’t fix the problem.

Any ideas?

Here is the exact error I am seeing:

Missing required client configuration options: version: (string) A "version" configuration value is required. Specifying a version constraint ensures that your code will not be affected by a breaking change made to the service. For example, when using Amazon S3, you can lock your API version to "2006-03-01". Your build of the SDK has the following version(s) of "s3": * "2006-03-01" You may provide "latest" to the "version" configuration value to utilize the most recent available API version that your client's API provider can find. Note: Using 'latest' in a production application is not recommended. A list of available API versions can be found on each client's API documentation page: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/aws-sdk-php/v3/api/index.html. If you are unable to load a specific API version, then you may need to update your copy of the SDK.

not allowed to access this page

I have reactivated BackWPup 3.4.5

It shows “plugin activated”

But when I use dashboard to try to access any BackWPup menu items, I get error message “not allowed to access this page”

I am the sole admin

I am logged in to WP.org

I would prefer to retain my previous BackWPup settings. Would they be retained if I deleted BackWPup and then re-installed?

I recently had some malware on my site and had to delete a few files. None of them appeared connected to BackWPup.

Thankyou for your help,

Wendy

BackWPup – Auftrag: Backup-OV

$

Hi,
my installation has a problem with BackWPup Version 3.5.1. with WP 4.9.6.
In my Backend I will make BackWPup –> Auftrag –> bearbeiten:

I sorted Datenbank-Backup, Dateien-Backup and Liste der installierten Plugins.
If I go to the tab “Dateien” –> Zu sichernde Verzeichnisse –>
WordPress-Installations-Ordner sichern

No WP-Installation folders are seen in the Backend

Do you have a solution for the blank site in the admin tab from BackWPup?

If I make a backup, these WP folders are not in the backup after end of the backup. My backup (DB & files) are > 2 GB!

This is the link with no output of files to save;
https://…/wp-admin/admin.php?page=backwpupeditjob&tab=jobtype-file&jobid=1&_wpnonce=5490ddb54a

Thank you for help.

False Positive – Base.php on BackWPUp

$
0
0

Hello,
I just want to confirm if this is a false positive?

This file may contain malicious executable code: wp-content/plugins/backwpup/vendor/phpseclib/phpseclib/phpseclib/Crypt/Base.php
Type: File

Filename: wp-content/plugins/backwpup/vendor/phpseclib/phpseclib/phpseclib/Crypt/Base.php
File Type: Not a core, theme, or plugin file from wordpress.org.
Details: This file is a PHP executable file and contains the word “eval” (without quotes) and the word “unpack(” (without quotes). The eval() function along with an encoding function like the one mentioned are commonly used by hackers to hide their code. If you know about this file you can choose to ignore it to exclude it from future scans. This file was detected because you have enabled HIGH SENSITIVITY scanning. This option is more aggressive than the usual scans, and may cause false positives

I’m on high sensitive scanning since 2 months, this is the first time the file is detected!
But I found this topic about the same file.
So I think I can ignore this, but before doing it, I want to be sure I can.
Please let me know.

Best,
Arthur
