Hi. I have the same problem as @mopperle.
I set Maximum script execution time = 30, but no change.
The compression gets to 87% and then hangs.

I am having this issue as well. If I exclude my Uploads folder, it zips along just fine. But if I leave the Uploads folder, which is about 200+ MB, it will either time out with an error, or it completes with no errors but I am unable to open the backup tar.gz after downloading it (get an error "Unable to expand 'filename.tar.gz'" any further details).

Received the following 2 error messages on a scheduled back up. I wanted to see how I can resolve these error messages. Looking to get this plugin error free and running correctly.

ERROR: Job has ended with errors in 57 seconds. You must resolve the errors for correct execution.

Daniel, this is a big problem. I have a post here describing something similar with no response. Your plugin is NOT MAKING BACKUPS, which is a critical problem for all your users.
I encourage you to please address this bug ASAP.

I'm running BackWPup 3.1.2 and made a manual backup before I wanted to update WP to the newest version. Backups are also scheduled weekly.
However, I noticed that not all folders are being saved in the backup - although backwpup is told to do so. I never noticed until now because the plugin doesn't give out any error. It just keeps telling everything is allright and skips wp-content and wp-includes (and I'd really like to have backups of the mediafiles...)
Backups go to folder and to ftp.
It works fine on all my other installations. This one is the only one that runs on a server that requires explicit ftp over tls though, maybe there's an issue with that?

Hey Jonathan,
The site ended up being moved different to a hosting solution and the issue seemed to disappear. I could quite narrow down the where exactly the issue was coming from, but it seems it was something with the host.
Wish I had more info to pass on.

Just installed this on a pretty fresh Wordpress setup and when I'm logged in as admin, the top admin bar shows BackWPup but now the Edit Page option is gone. How can I get this back? This is obviously caused by this plugin as it shows upon deactivation.

Epco on "[Plugin: BackWPup Free - WordPress Backup Plugin] role conflicts with backWPup and bbPress"
Hi, I found an issue with backWPup and bbPress where site roles, backWPup roles and forum roles get mingled up.
See my topic at bbPress where I explain my findings.
In short, installing bbPress after backWPup makes the admin installing the plugin the only admin, other admins lose their role. There is also a mixup of the roles of backWPup, bbPress and Wordpress.
Installing the other way around everything stays fine. But after deactivating BackWPup the corresponding roles are listed under site roles.

Is the latest version working with Dropbox?
It shows Last Updated: 2014-9-4
but the version number is exactly the same as the previous one: 3.1.2

Same problem. I'm losing faith. This seems like a it should be a great backup but when backups are not created it can cause big problems. We need this to be reliable.
Any help on this issue would be great.
